The First Days of My Life...

I was born at NAMC, Austin, Texas. As soon as I was born, I saw a flash and there was my Daddy taking my first picture. I knew they were counting my APGAR scores so I made sure I cried ::smart:: Then they showed me my Mommy's face for the first time;

I knew her by heart but I was waiting patiently for nine months to see her face: what a lovely face. And I got my first loving hug from Mommy. Soon after they gave me a bath, they weighed me, measured my length and took my hand and foot prints. I weighed 6.26 pounds and was 19 inches long at birth.

The journey was long and I was kind of tired when I entered the world. ::tired...:: My blood sugar was low and my Mommy was exhausted after the surgery. So I needed some milk to get my sugars up. So I gave my first shot of my Mom's milk. After a couple of minutes, the nurse wanted to get my sugars normalized fast, so she asked my Daddy to feed me with formula milk. I knew it was Dad's first attempt at a feeding bottle, but he just did great! Thanks to all the baby care classes that he attended. I was so hungry that I gulped 30ml of Similac right away. And just after that they took my blood and it was fine.

Then we went to the postpartum room- room no. 242, and spend our first few hours together as a family. I slept in my Dad's arms while my Mom was recovering from her surgery. I had many visitors and I enjoyed the love and care that everyone gave. All in all, a great start!
