I am growing...

Didnt realize how fast time went by! It was already 2 weeks - time for my first well baby visit(June 12th). My attending doctor, Dr.Thomas Huges, was happy with my growth; thanks to my Mommy's milk. I weighed 7 pounds.

Along with my body weight growth, my nails also grew. I scratched my face couple of times. My Mommy and Daddy showed great teamwork in the process of cutting my first nails and they told me they had saved it. On June 8th, my cord fell off.

Mary aunty's care: Whenever Daddy had to go to the office, Mary Aunty visited me and Mommy and played with me. As days went by, we became great friends. On June 19th, mommy had to go for Dr's appointment... Being understanding, i didnt make a fuss out of it and stayed with Mary Aunty: had a nice time.

Homecoming: One step at a time

For nine months, I lived in the comfort of my Mom's womb. then I took the bold step to enter this world. Stayed at the hospital for five days. As they say, one step at a time, I decided to take the next step- going home. I had heard about the Austin traffic and I decided to have a look at it myself.
It was June 2nd, my Mommy's and Daddy's wedding anniversary that I came home. I had my first car ride ever and I saw the Friday traffic going to 6th street. We reached home at about 7:30pm. Mary aunty and Roy uncle were eagerly waiting to see me and as soon as I came home, they came to visit me. I felt the warmth of my home and the care of my parents. I Slept with them and enjoyed my first night at home.

The First Days of My Life...

I was born at NAMC, Austin, Texas. As soon as I was born, I saw a flash and there was my Daddy taking my first picture. I knew they were counting my APGAR scores so I made sure I cried ::smart:: Then they showed me my Mommy's face for the first time;

I knew her by heart but I was waiting patiently for nine months to see her face: what a lovely face. And I got my first loving hug from Mommy. Soon after they gave me a bath, they weighed me, measured my length and took my hand and foot prints. I weighed 6.26 pounds and was 19 inches long at birth.

The journey was long and I was kind of tired when I entered the world. ::tired...:: My blood sugar was low and my Mommy was exhausted after the surgery. So I needed some milk to get my sugars up. So I gave my first shot of my Mom's milk. After a couple of minutes, the nurse wanted to get my sugars normalized fast, so she asked my Daddy to feed me with formula milk. I knew it was Dad's first attempt at a feeding bottle, but he just did great! Thanks to all the baby care classes that he attended. I was so hungry that I gulped 30ml of Similac right away. And just after that they took my blood and it was fine.

Then we went to the postpartum room- room no. 242, and spend our first few hours together as a family. I slept in my Dad's arms while my Mom was recovering from her surgery. I had many visitors and I enjoyed the love and care that everyone gave. All in all, a great start!
